“Lively and entertaining, Jan delights her audiences with an array of props and hats she pulls out of an old suitcase. She always pokes fun at herself with helps others look at life from the light side.”

FROM JAN:

It's so true that those who laugh more live longer. They're healthier and less stressed. It’s good enough for me. Life is too short to fret and be frazzled, especially over things we can't control. And that's the journey God has me on right now, letting go of my need to control, resting and trusting in Him. It's not always easy. We can't control much in life, except our attitude. Like many, I've learned my most powerful lessons during life's storms and it's true that laughter is the best medicine. I began to search for the light side of every situation, and guess what---I found it. There is always something to be glad about, no matter what. "This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."

I am known for blending my zany humor with the message of God's redeeming, restoring, reviving truth. Humor melts stubborn hearts and does wonder for our weary souls. I've never had a gal say, "We laughed too much." Rather, "It felt so good to laugh and let go." I poke much fun at myself which seems to comfort women and help them risk being real.

What I like best is to adapt my message (stories, illustrations) to your chosen theme, if you have one. If not, I'm happy to brainstorm the event with you. I can speak to almost any topic, and my messages are for every woman, young and old. My goal is for her leave more inspired and challenged than before she came. I'm honored at any invitation, so let's pray about whether I'm the right fit for the event you have in mind. I can come for an hour or for the weekend. And from the moment I arrive, I'm there for you. It's not about me or my unique way of presenting my topics. It's about what God will do through me, how he will speak to each ladies heart and transform it.

"Everyone loved your sense of humor, the way you took ordinary, sometimes painful experiences and turned them into God experiences."-----Cindy Sims, Crossroads Bible Church, San Jose, CA.

Tips for successful women's events:

Choosing a topic & theme: Do your gals have a favorite topic of conversation? In these tough times it may be hope or contentment or trusting in God’s promises. Query your group for ideas, pick the best and make it fresh. A recent group asked me to speak on the authentic woman. They chose “Masquerade” as their theme. They dressed up the meeting room like a stage, the nametags were theater tickets and there were masks galore. On Saturday night they had a costume party. For another retreat, “Joy for the Journey,” I loved how the gals took tree branches, tied on fabric, filled them with fun goodies and created a hobo’s knapsack for everyone. Tables were decorated in a travel theme. Be creative. If you need ideas, let me know. I’m full of them!

Choosing a speaker: A good speaker makes a memorable event. Ladies forget the troubles at home. A seasoned speaker can bring a life-changing, faith-building message, but before you sign on the dotted line, check references; call or email them. Go through her topics. Do they meet your theme? If she says she can adapt the message to your group, see if she has the style you’re looking for and ask her for some examples of how she’ll do this. You want to find the right fit.

What about fees? As a published author and seasoned speaker I have been blessed to receive generous speaking fees, but God has laid on my heart to come for the group's proposed budget whenever possible. Please let me know if I may be that right speaker for your event, and we'll prayerfully consider it together.
